Orders and Payment

Once you are ready to order, add the items of choice to the shopping cart and proceed to the checkout. You will be directed to PayPal to make your payment securely.

Shipping



Once you have completed the checkout process you will receive a confirmation email. Allow 3 -5 working days for delivery after processing within the UK.

NOTE: We use Royal Mail to send our items. Though we have always used this service with minimal issues, problems can sometimes happen. We always send recorded so you can keep track of your item. If for any reason your item does not reach you within 2 weeks, please call the post office first.

 

Returns Policy

If for any reason you would like to return an item from our Vintage Style section, we would be happy to offer an exchange or refund.

Please send it recorded delivery within 14 days of receiving your order. We can not take any responsibility for items lost in the post.

Items must be in the same condition as they were received and will be refunded at the price at point of purchase.

Postage and packing is not refunded. The ONLY exemption to this is if the item is faulty.

Please note: We will not pay import or customs duty on returned items from outside the EU. You must clearly state on the outside of your parcel that it is a return in order to avoid having your parcel held by customs and returned back to you.

Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive which can be found at www.hmso.gov.uk.

If you return an Item to us under these circumstances, we will process the refund due to you as soon as possible and, in any case, within thirty days of the day you gave notice of cancellation.

Atypical Girl does not accept liability for any damages or loss during return transit. Please note that we will not be held responsible for your parcel if it does not arrive back to us. In these circumstances we would, unfortunately, not be able to offer you a refund and we would recommend that you seek compensation from your postal service. Our customers are responsible for adequately wrapping and insuring any returned items, and sending them back by Royal Mail Recorded Delivery.  Please also remember to ask your postal service for a proof of postage receipt and retain it for your reference as this will contain the tracking information for your return. 

Atypical Girl reserves the right to refuse refunds on any items they believe to have obviously been worn, or damaged, since dispatch from us. In this circumstance, items will either be returned to the customer without refund, or a partial refund may be given less our cleaning and mending costs. 

If a vintage garment zip or fastening breaks after the garment has been safely delivered to your door, then this is not grounds for a refund. Customers should accept that vintage zips may be up to 70 years old and delicate in nature and purchasing a vintage garment assumes the customer understands that zips and fastenings may need replacing at some future point.

The following items are strictly non-returnable, unless they are faulty or otherwise not as described:

  • Ear-rings

  • Hair pins

  • Hair accessories

  • Underwear or swimwear if the hygiene seal has been removed.

We reserve the right to refuse any order at our discretion. Non-acceptance of an order may, for example, result from one of the following:

(a)              the Item ordered being unavailable from stock;

(b)              our inability to obtain authorisation of payment; or

(c)              the identification of an error within the product information, including price or promotion.

 

Where your Item is faulty or otherwise not as described

Where you consider an Item to be faulty or otherwise not as described, we would expect that you let us know within 14 days of the day you received the Item.

If you return an Item to us under these circumstances, we will examine the returned Item and will notify you of your refund via e-mail within a reasonable period of time.  We will process your refund as soon as possible and, in any case, within fourteen days of the day we confirmed to you via e-mail that you were entitled to a refund. We will refund the price of the Item in full, any applicable delivery charges and any reasonable costs you incur in returning the Item to us.

If, after we examine the returned Item, we do not find any fault with it, you will be notified via e-mail that the returned Item cannot be accepted and you will have the option to have it re-delivered to you. If you choose not to have returned Item re-delivered, we will hold on to it and will not process your refund.

You have a legal obligation to take reasonable care of the Items while they are in your possession. Where you have failed to take reasonable care of any Items, we reserve the right to deduct any amounts due by way of compensation to either repair the Items or to cover any loss from the refund due to you. We recommend therefore that you wrap your items safely and securely to avoid damage in transit back to us.

Please note that items must be returned to us in the condition you received them. Please try to return Items to us on or with their original packaging and labels in tact.

Availability

All Items are subject to availability and, as a consequence, you should be aware that we may not be able to fulfil your order. If an Item you have ordered becomes out of stock before we accept the order we will notify you as soon as possible and you will not be charged for the out of stock Items.

Quality

We warrant to you that any Item purchased from us through our Site will, on delivery, conform in all material respects with its description, be of satisfactory quality, and be reasonably fit for all the purposes for which Items of that kind are commonly supplied.

This warranty does not apply to any fault in any Items arising from fair wear and tear, wilful damage, accident, negligence by you or any third party, your failure to follow any care instructions, or any alteration or repair you carry out without our prior written approval.

Please remember that some of the Items we sell on our Site are vintage and this will be noted in the accompanying description. Vintage means pre-loved and so these Items will have had a life even before they reach you. We would therefore ask that when you are considering whether or not a vintage item is of satisfactory quality, you remember that most vintage/second clothing does show small signs of wear and some display noticeable wear. You accept that the quality of any vintage/second-hand Items will not be 'as new'.

Information about Items and Sizing

We have made every effort to display the Items featured on our Site as accurately as possible. However, please remember that shopping online is very different to shopping in store. For instance, the colours we use, as well as the display and colour capabilities of your particular computer monitor, may greatly affect the colours you actually see on the screen. We cannot be held responsible for any limitations of your monitor and cannot guarantee that your monitor's display of any colour, texture, or detail of Items will be accurate/the same as the actual Item.

All sizes and measurements are approximate. However we do make every effort to ensure they are as accurate as possible. Unless otherwise stated, sizes indicated are UK sizes. Please refer to the size guide for clarification.

Events outside our control

We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under a Contract that is caused by events outside our reasonable control (Force Majeure Event).
